History of Shah Jahan

1.     The full name of Shah Jahan was Shihabuddin Mohd Shah Jahan.
2.     Shah Jahan comes from Persian words means “king of the world”.
3.     Prince khurram was 35 years old when he ascended the throne as shah Jahan in 1627.
4.     Shah Jahan’s father in law was Asaf khan.
5.     Shah Jahan’s reign has been called golden age of mughal empire.
6.     Early age of his reign shah jahan preferred agara to delhias a place of residence.
7.     The birth name of Jahan’s wife Mumtaj Mahal was Arjumand Banu begum.
8.      Shah Jahan founded Shahjahanabad now known as old Delhi

(a)hall of public and private audience (diwan –i khaas)
